General Ghost Hunting Rules
Ghost Hunting and Investigation Rules are pretty much common sense, however just to make things clear to all, here is a list of the basic rules to always follow when conducting an investigation.
Never go alone, always go with at least one other person. This is not only important for backup evidence but also for safety purposes as well.
Always observe "No Trespassing" signs and always get permission to investigate if you are on private property.
Always bring along your ID, so you can prove who you are, just in case you are questioned by the police.
Find out all the history you can about the location you will be investigating. One of the investigators main tools is research, don't be afraid to use it.
Ghost photos can be taken at nearly any time of the day or night, however, the best time for ghost hunting is usually during the hours of 9pm to 6am, or from dusk to dawn.
Always walk around the area for about 15 minutes before starting your investigation, this will allow time to get a feel for the area and take initial meter readings.
Always conduct your investigations in a professional manner, it is best to be organized and knowledgeable.
When you enter a site ask for a blessing of protection in case of evil spirit encounters.
Never challenge a spirit or ask it to reveal itself to you in an overly hostile manner.
Always follow your instincts, if you get an extremely uneasy or uncomfortable feeling, quietly leave the area immediately.
Have a positive attitude and an open mind, spirits are attracted to positive energies.
Always keep a log of events that occur during an investigation.
Be skeptical, always look for a natural cause for unexplained phenomena, by eliminating common explanations the evidence you collect becomes stronger proof.
As you leave an investigation, DO NOT remove anything from the site. No souvenirs.
This can sometimes cause a spirit to follow you home as they sometimes "attach" themselves to certain items, mainly personal items.
