Why Join Huntington Paranormal?

Why join?

Because we are a team of dedicated Researchers and Investigators who seek to find answers.

By joining our team you will meet a diverse group of people who have a similar interest. We are made up of a variety of team members and each person contributes something unique to the group. Our members are truly dedicated to the group and they all work very hard.

What does it take to be a member?

Some of the characteristics we look for when we add new members to our team are patience and dedication. Patience is a virtue of a good investigator and dedication is the foundation of any good investigator. We expect our new members to be dedicated to their work with HPIR and to always follow all of our standards and policies.

There are a few requirements to becoming a member, please see our guidelines for membership before you apply.

How am I selected?

New members will be selected by our Founders and Board Members. The Board members are a group of individuals who have shown exceptional leadership in the group and have demonstrated a strong dedication to the group. Board members also are our greatest contributors of specialized skills, information, research, and much more. These are the members who will ultimately decide if you will be a good fit for the team.

The application process and interview are your starting points. We will try to get to know a little about you from the interview and why you are choosing to join a group like ours. After you interview, if we feel that you have what it takes to be a dedicated member of our team we will contact you and invite you to start your training.

What you need to do

We hold open meetings occasionally for interested people, we will announce these meetings on our website. During an open meeting you will meet the HPIR team, learn about us and what we do. You will learn what it takes to become a dedicated member of our team.

During this meeting You will need to fill out an application and sit down with the members of HPIR for a interview.

What you need to know

A seemingly common misconception of joining a team like ours is that many new people are expecting a thrill from the moment they step inside a haunted location. The truth is that on many investigations the nights can be long and very often uneventful. If you come to us looking for adventure, you may find it. But keep in mind that sometimes it may take months or even years to have a first hand experience of true paranormal phenomena, and some of us are still waiting. We are not looking for thrill seekers, we are looking for truly dedicated members.

If you expect that your first investigation is going to look like an episode of Ghost Hunters you are probably going to be in for a bit of a surprise. All that suspense and drama is not typical during an investigation with us. Our team works hard, we work together and we have high standards in which we expect all our team members to uphold. Again this is why patience is a strong value for all team members.

Your work with HPIR is strictly voluntary work, there is no compensation given to members for their work.

There is no fee for membership, however we do rely on donations from our members to help keep things running. Although donations are not required they are greatly appreciated.

We also need to stress that our group is not a place for meeting the opposite sex, if you are looking for a date HPIR is not the place for you.
