Digital Camera

 We have a number of digital cameras that we use during investigations. We use cameras to photograph the area in which we are investigating. Often times what you may not see with your naked eye can be captured up on camera. Digital cameras are great to use on investigations you can snap a photo and you have instant results however digital cameras do have some drawbacks. There tends to be a greater presence of orbs with digital cameras and there is no negative that can be used to compare with the photo.

 

Standard 35mm Camera

Often we will have at least one 35mm camera with us during investigations. Standard film cameras are used as a backup source for photographic evidence collected.

 

EMF Meter

We have several varieties of EMF meters that we use from the very basic ELF Meter to the more advance digital readout EMF meter. EMF meters are used to pinpoint sources of electromagnetic fields such as power outlets, appliances and even some pipes. Sometimes people can have a condition that is known as electrical Sensitivity, this condition causes a person who is exposed to EMF have physical and emotional symptoms such as headaches and even seeing shadows. We use the EMF to find sources of EMF in the place we are investigating, and to inform the client of areas of high readings if applicable. It is believed that entities give off a certain amount of electromagnetic energy, however this is just a theory and has not been proven. The EMF is used not as a ghost detector, but used to find natural explanations for seemingly paranormal activity.

 

Digital Thermometer

We use a digital thermometer to get a reading of ambient room temperature and humidity. When we enter into an investigation one of the first things we do it get baseline temperature readings. Temperature can help us throughout the investigation because it is believed that a significant drop in temperature can indicate the presence of an entity. A humidity reading can be helpful as well, in higher humidity (especially outdoors) the higher the chances are that more orbs will be in our pictures. Humidity is one of many factors that can aid in the appearance of orbs in photos.

 

Laser Thermometer

 We use laser thermometers to gather temperature readings and to help track cold spots. Sometimes cold spots are associated with hauntings, so if there are any unusual temperature drops the thermometers have instant readouts of temperature measurement that can be recorded.

 

Digital Voice Recorder  

Voice recorders are used to attempt to collect EVP's or Electronic Voice Phenomena. We have quite a few different voice recorders that we use. We not only carry recorders with us during investigations but also we place them in specific areas of the investigation and leave them there to record while we are elsewhere.

 

Analog Voice Recorder

Analog recorders are used the same as digital recorders for the collection of EVP's. However with the potential for more mechanical noise from the recorder itself it is best to use them with an external microphone.

 

Wireless Microphone

A wireless microphone is used the same as a voice recorder, to collect EVP's. A wireless microphone is an excellent tool we have discovered because the clarity is remarkable which helps eliminate excess background noise so picking out EVP's is much easier. We hook the wireless microphone into one of our laptop computers and use the Adobe Audition program to record directly to the computer.

 

Video Camera with Nightshot/Night vision

Video cameras are used to record possible paranormal phenomena that may occur during an investigation such as object movement. If something moves on it's own we then have proof with video evidence that no person interfered with it's movement. With the advantage of having night-shot, or night vision on the cameras we can see the video even when it's completely dark.

 

Security Cameras with Night vision

The security camera has the same concept as the video camera with night vision it helps us see possible paranormal phenomena taking place even in the dark. This camera is smaller and more versatile and can be mounted up in a corner of a room to get a better field of view.

 

White Noise

This is one tool we use at times to help aid in the collection of EVP's. White noise is believed to help an entity communicate and manifest. White noise will be used as light background noise while attempting to collect EVP's during an investigation.

 

Laptop Computers

We use several laptop computers mainly to help analyze evidence, we use different computer programs to listen to and pick apart our audio findings. We Use the laptop also for photos, we can view, zoom,  enhance and even enlarge our photos to carefully examine the ones we feel may have possible paranormal activity. We also  can check the Exchangeable Image File (or EXIF) data on digital photos as well, we can check data such as exposure time and shutter speed to help determine the authenticity of the photo. We also record our wireless audio directly to the laptop computers.
